Tortuga Music Festival
Tortuga Music Festival is a three day, multi-stage festival that creates a weekend packed with unforgettable memories! Not only does this festival bring lovers of rock, country, and roots music together, it alongside Rock The Ocean raises awareness for marine conservation within the Conservation Village, all proceeds raised within the village are split between the village partners. Attendees must pass through conservation when moving from the different stages, this year Keep Florida Beautiful had the pleasure of being one of many partners, educating the public within the village.
Tortuga strives to be the most sustainable music festival in multiple ways, such as:
- Solar lighting
- Using electric powered equipment
- Compostable cups
- ZERO plastic
- Having a comprehensive recycling and composting program. (This has diverted 600 tons of waste from landfills).
- Sea oat planting (Over 24,000 sea oats have been planted to restore habitats).
- Beach & Reef cleanups are held monthly, with a beach cleanup after the festival to ensure any litter from the festival is picked up.
- Food and beverage guidelines that require vendors to ONLY serve antibiotic-free meats; responsibly and sustainably-sourced seafood; and locally-grown and organic foods when possible.
Keep Florida Beautiful was able to reach thousands of people, educating them on our mission and their local affiliates-even if out of state. KFB was able to meet and create future partnerships with the other organizations and businesses set up for Tortuga, which will only strengthen our communities. It was an unforgettable experience and we hope to go back year after year!
