Day at Canva Create

Keep Florida Beautiful traveled to Los Angeles California to attend Canva Create. With over 50 sessions to choose from the day was filled with new product launches, demonstrations, conversations and workshops.

The biggest product launch was Canva AI 2.0

While many in attendance seemed excited, we were hoping for more conversation around the environmental impacts this launch would bring, and how Canva– who boasts about their sustainable initiatives would combat this impact. While that conversation wasn’t touched on, there were still sessions not centered around AI use that we attended.

The sessions

The most informative and helpful sessions were definitely the workshops within the Design School! It was interesting to learn how to manipulate layering in videos, and what posts perform the best on socials (Carousels). We will be taking everything we learned during these sessions to craft our own Canva how-to session for our 2026 Annual Conference. Creating social posts can often feel daunting, with how many elements and ways you can create in Canva. These workshops help simplify and build confidence in the tools within this platform.

Favorite Session

Maurice Harris was our favorite of the day. He led such an inspiring discussion on turning the ordinary into wonder. Everyone received a flower when they entered which created a light and joy-filled crowd. It is easy to forget how impactful the little things can be. Sam Sanders was the host and together they discussed creativity as restoration: elevating what is often ignored/overlooked and remembering that beauty, like flowers, is powerful and meant to be shared. This message aligns with our mission of beautifying Florida and it was great to see how many people felt a connection with his words and this presentation.

Overall

All in all, we met so many businesses and people, we honed our skills, and came back refreshed and ready to dive back into creating content that resonates with our target audience. We are excited to see what 2027 holds and hope that they continue offering sessions not geared toward AI usage. It would be great to see sessions that discuss the impact they are making with their tree planting and sustainability programs and how organizations like ours can help support!

See you all next year!
